BBC confirms ‘much loved’ child TV star Mya-Lecia Naylor found dead

The entertainment world has been rocked by the unexpected death of a popular and rising young British TV star.

British actor, model and singer Mya-Lecia Naylor has died aged just 16.
Mya-Lecia, who passed away on Sunday, starred alongside Emily Atack, Fleur East and Tess Daley on the CBBC show Almost Never, reportsThe Sun.
The show follows boyband The Wonderland and rival girl group Girls Here First competing on fictional TV talent competition The Spotlight.
Her co-star Emily led tributes to Mya-Lecia after the heartbreaking news of her death was confirmed. It is not yet clear how she died.
The I’m a Celebrity runner-up wrote on Instagram: “So shocked and sad to hear about lovely Mya-Lecia Naylor.
“She was a beautiful and talented girl. A complete joy to be around on the set of Almost Never.
“Sending all my love to her family & friends. Rest in peace beautiful girl.”
The BBC confirmed Mya-Lecia had died as they paid tribute to the “much loved” actor.
A spokesman said: “We are so sorry to have to tell you that Mya-Lecia, who you will know from Millie Inbetween and Almost Never has, very sadly, died.
“Mya-Lecia was a much loved part of the BBC Children’s family, and a hugely talented actor, singer and dancer.
“We will miss her enormously and we are sure that you will want to join us in sending all our love to her family and friends.
“We know this news is very upsetting, and it may help to share how you are feeling with friends or a trusted adult.”
Mya-Lecia’s devastated co-stars also paid tribute to the child actor.

Oakley Orchard, who was in The Wonderland in the show, said: “Rest in peace to my little pink wafer. Absolutely devastated, will miss all the fun times we had together.”
Co-star Nathaniel Dass wrote: “We are all going to miss you so so much and Almost Never won’t be the same without you.
“The most beautiful girl inside and out, kind and funny I will never forget you and thank you for being a part of my life.”

While Tillie Amartey wrote: “Rest forever in peace my beautiful angel you are loved and always will be your legacy lives on in all of us we will do you proud I promise.”
Mya-Lecia was also known for her role as Fran in CBBC’s Millie Inbetween.
She was born in 2002 and later began a career as a model, actor and singer.
Her first TV appearance was in Absolutely Fabulous in 2004 at the age of just one, playing Saffy’s daughter Jane. She also had a role in the 2002 movie Cloud Atlas, which she appeared in alongside Tom Hanks and Halle Berry.
